Somali Bantu Diversity Center founded by Somali community members in USA to advocate
for ethnic minority group from Somalia who have faced significant displacement and
persecution due to their ethnicity and agricultural livelihoods.
SBDC was aimed to support the Somali Bantu community in their integration and to provide
assistance with resettlement in USA as well as to support the community in Somalia through
agricultural livelihoods, Education and Health Interventions. The center often offers a range
of services, including language interpretation, cultural orientation, educational support,
access to healthcare, employment assistance, and social support to Somali Community in
USA.
SBDC is committed to advocate for those who need its support in collaboration with local
organizations and government agencies that aim to address the unique needs and challenges
faced by the Somali Bantu community in USA and Somalia. SBDC is officially registered in
State of OHIO in USA and Somalia. Fatima Bulle is the founder of SBDC based in USA and
Somalia.
Our Objectives
• Resettlement support: Somali Bantu Diversity Center aims to assist newly arrived Somali
Bantu refugees in their resettlement process by providing them with information,
resources, and support to help them navigate their new environment. This may include
assistance with housing, employment, education, healthcare, and access to social
services.
• Cultural preservation: SBDC often strives to preserve and promote Somali Bantu culture,
language, traditions, and heritage by organizing cultural programs, events, and activities
that celebrate and showcase Somali Bantu customs, music, dance, art, and storytelling.
• Language and education support: SBDC provides language assistance, including English
language classes and interpretation services, to help community members overcome
language barriers and improve their communication skills. They may also offer
educational support and tutoring services for children and adults to enhance academic
achievement.
• Community empowerment: Somali Bantu Centers aim to empower community members
by providing them with the tools, resources, and skills they need to become self-sufficient
and actively participate in their new society. This may involve offering vocational training,
job placement assistance, financial literacy programs, and entrepreneurship support.
